For the next few hours, Pensacola caught the brunt of the big storm that spawned 117 tornadoes along its path. Many businesses locations were severely damaged and some simply blown away or washed away, with their important documents lost forever. The damage was placed at 19.2 billion dollars. With this, a few software and hardware specialists began to formulate plans for a system that would protectively store valuable documents. This group was the nucleus of what would become known as eTDS.
In less than a year, while eTDS was researching and developing their new system, tragedy struck again. On August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina made landfall in the vicinity of New Orleans, Louisiana. Its devastation in human lives and financial loss is well documented. Hospitals, legal firms, title companies, accounting firms were among those who lost their documents, mostly databases. These were absolutely unrecoverable. Had the eTDS been available and in use at the time, these companies would not have experienced such catastrophic loss.
In the year 2008, eTDS was finally opened as a business entity, boasting a foolproof system of document storage and security. The system is easy to use and very reliable. A document can be stored safely in a matter of seconds and remain available indefinitely, only to those with the proper ID and password.
The end-to-end solution is fully custom-built by eTDS and is not a collection of hardware and software sold to them by others. It was designed, developed, integrated, tested by eTDS and is fully customized by eTDS to best match each customer's needs.
As in the cases of Hurricanes Ivan and Katrina, when a challenge is presented to us, we overcome it! Check our Products and Services pages to see all that eTDS has to offer its clients.
